Re: Pistol/3 Gun Competition
Well, the basics for INAS's USPSA are your pistol, mags, good OWB holster (no crossdraw, shoulder, or drop-leg holsters), mag pouches on belt... I'd recommend showing up with what you have and seeing if you like it. If there is a high round count stage, you may lose points if you only have two magaz...

Re: 40 S&W good enough?
I bet you're going to see a whole bunch of different opinions. Personally, I carry a 44 Mag Ruger Super Blackhawk. I appreciate the little bit extra over a 357. If I was in the market again, I'd think about looking at a 41 Mag as my choice. I'd recommend differently for two situations: 1. You don't ...

Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation
Being far more smart-ass than lawyer, what if law enforcement and FFLs ignored the restrictions? "Semiautomatic" and "assault rifle" have contradicting legal definitions, making it a non-existent item. You can't really ban or restrict something that doesn't exist... Except they changed the definiti...

Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation
So this applies to just semi auto rifles, and not handguns? Both, all semi auto. Plus the new rules on everything I read the initiative differently. I read it as having some impacts on pistols (such as being included in the annual eligibility verification), but the other infringements only apply to...

Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation
It will be interesting to see if the market shifts toward AR15 pistols. The annual eligibility [ETA: verification] would still apply, but I don't see how the mandatory training and extra fee would. The majority of the initiative deals with semi auto rifles. Not saying there won't be any follow-ons t...

Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation
Well... I'm both looking forward to moving to a red state and feeling guilty for taking two conservative votes away from the state. We've been planning this move for a while, but election night didn't do anything to change our minds.

Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation
When after the vote if it passes would it take effect? I believe the restriction on under 21 years goes into effect January 1 then the rest goes into effect in July. Law enforcement has a year after it goes into effect to develop their system to verify continued eligibility, but I'm not sure which ...

Re: Muzzy deer
Waterdog, nice looking buck to me. Well, I have no pics... but I took an average doe on Sunday. Hunting on my brother's property up north, and he had 3 buck tags to fill come modern. Not shooting a buck was a condition of hunting his property. The doe spooked (both her and me) about 15 yards behind ...

Re: Scope wont hold zero
Are you dialing from 100 to 600 then back down? If it holds zero without adjustments but is not repeatable after dialing, then I'd lean toward the scope. It's hard to tell still. I would probably disassemble everything and then put the rifle back in stock, rings/base back on, remount scope... If you...

Re: Gray area on automatic knives
If you really love your knife and want to be sure, send a letter to the sheriff, Spokane PD, WSP... tell them you are interested in buying the knife and have a link to the manufacturer's description. It may take them a bit, but you'll have a more official response. Not saying humans in LE never make...

Re: Gray area on automatic knives
Personally, I wouldn't carry any of the Launch series in WA. First, it is advertised as an automatic knife. Second, your highlighted section reads differently for me. "Bias toward closure" is the knive's natural preference to remain closed. To be legal, you have to physically move the blade past a f...
