Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation

There is quite a grey area surrounding the "grandfathered" firearms. The secure storage aspect still applies. I am reading over the law now. its a mess. There is a lot of it that is not very clearly defined. And that is JUST the way it is intended to be - vaguely defined, so that it can be interpre...

Re: Initiative 1639 - Important WA Legislation

Well, it appears that the west side got what they wanted. Screw Washington - I'm moving to Idaho.

In the meantime, do I understand correctly that this applies to new purchases only? In other words, is there anything in there about what guns you already have?

Thanks Bladebum for posting links to the full text of these nefarious bills. SGT members, if you click on the links provided you'll have the opportunity to Comment on the bills. There's a limit on the characters you can enter in the blank, so I crammed as many hot button words as I could in there: I...

Re: HB 1387: contact your representatives and make some noise!

Back to HB 1387 again: I found that it's up for public hearing on the House Judiciary Committee's agenda for February 02, 2017 at 1:30 PM. They'll also be talking about HB 1122, which would make us render our guns useless for defense by requiring they be locked up. Once again, here are the phone num...

SB 5444 moving forward

Received an update from Senator Jan Angel today regarding SB 5444 (the Senate's companion bill to House Bill 1387): SB 5444 is currently scheduled for executive session (a vote that will determine whether it proceeds to the Rules Committee and possibly the floor) next Thursday, February 1st. You can...

Re: HB 1387: contact your representatives and make some noise!

I think we are f**** The democrats have full control and they are determined to get this past if it costs them jobs. I mean their maybe some adjustments they might not get all their way but I don’t see them with Inslee who is willing to risk his job to get this passed. Looks like I’ll be working he...

HB 1387: contact your representatives and make some noise!

...The true 'assault weapon' against freedom is pernicious legislation... HB 1387 is coming up for hearing before the State House Judiciary Committee on January 25th at 1:30pm. There are at least 4 other bills coming up at the same meeting but I haven't had time to read through those yet. 1387 is sc...

Re: Armed Private Security Company

A guy I knew got a deal on a Bobcat at an equipment auction and started a construction equipment rental company from that. I'd say look around in the immediate local area and see what people are renting from Star or United...they might prefer to rent from a local outfit if the option was available t...

Re: Magazine registration and other crackpot ideas

In addition to the NRA-ILA link, I'd suggest sending emails to steve.hobbs@leg.wa.gov, timothy.sheldon@leg.wa.gov, dean.takko@leg.wa.gov, and jan.angel@leg.wa.gov. Jan Angel replied to me quickly (she's very opposed to these bills as well) and also suggested sending email to the Law & Justice chair ...

Re: Wa Attorney General proposes Assault Weapons Ban

I received the same two replies. I noticed that the first of the two was from Andrea Baker, which was the message they tried to recall. The second one came from "ATG WWW Email AGO Temporary". Looks like the poor gal who was tasked with replying to all us pesky gun owners sent replies from her own em...

I don't see this going anywhere being that it has only one sponsor but just in case, light up his phone line next week. Getting sick of these band-wagon idiots. Good advice and it's good to see some of us taking the time to pester our representatives. We can't rely on these things 'not going anywhe...
