Re: Recommend a shop please, need a Glock G30 receiver

Keep in mind that what your're calling the "receiver" is in the eyes of the ATF, the entire gun because it has the serial number on it, and in all practicality it's about 75 percent of the whole gun minus the slide, barrel, extactor, firing pin assembly and FP safety. You might be able to get the ba...

New 5-shot Ruger GP-100 in 44 special.

The GP-100 is about the size of a S&W 'L' Frame but it's a beefier gun because it's cast steel instead of forged, and Ruger developed a special High-strength stainless alloy especially for the Redhawk, so these are very strong guns that a reloader could load the 44 special to near-44 magnum ballisti...

Crickett 22LR "Precision Rifle"

from The firearms Blog: Keystone Sporting Arms LLC posted this photo on their Facebook page. I called them up to find out if this was real or not. According to Salesman Nathan, the CPR is based off their bull barrel Cricketts. They noticed the trend in the firearms industry is to make rifles with th...

Re: 224 Eaden Magnum Rifle

Thanks for all the info the case is a 30/06 will be contacting RCBS next week, been pretty busy, will probably end up rebarreling it. Thanks again wing 1546. Thanks for the update and let us know what RCBS says and what you finally decide to do with the rifle and what caliber you re-barrel it to. I...

Re: 224 Eaden Magnum Rifle

Well if RCBS cannot help you after the chamber cast , maybe Pacific Tool and Gauge in Oregon can direct you . They build all kinds of firearm related tools. http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/314-gunsmithing-tools-jigs Depends on what the guy who posted this question finds out after calling RCBS, and t...

Re: 224 Eaden Magnum Rifle

Do a chamber cast or have one done and send it to RCBS and they will make what you want. ;) Doing a chamber cast would be the best place to start, but according to the RCBS 2014 special order catalog - " RCBS no longer produces unique, one-of-a-kind, custom dies or custom bullet moulds. RCBS still ...

Re: 224 Eaden Magnum Rifle

Anyone ever heard of Harlon Eaden 224 Magnum based on Remington 700, looking for step down dies. Thanks By "step down" dies do you mean forming dies or re-sizing dies? To form cases, you'd first have to know what the parent case was, and while I have dealt with a lot of wildcat cartridges over the ...

Re: henry announces 327 federal lever action carbine

The White Elephant stores and Black Sheep carry Henry rifles and do special orders on them, as well. Their everyday prices are generally at or lower than Cabela's sale prices, as well. There's a NIB Brass-framed 44 mag henry on the Rifles for sale forum right now for $600 firm (not interested in tr...

Ruger Introduces One-Button Takedown Mark IV Pistol

Has anyone seen one of these yet? It looks like it has a different Ambi Thumb safety. I never liked the Mk III's. I have a mark II with the long bull barrel. I'd like to see them make these new guns with the 6.5 in tapered barrel. Ruger Introduces One-Button Takedown Mark IV Pistol by American Rifle...

Re: Making a Birdshead shotgun grip

The one in the first picture is really nice looking. Not sure how much fun it would be to actually shoot with 3 inch mag #00 Buck, however. But Winchester, Remington. Fiocchi, and Federal all make reduced recoil buckshot loads, but of the three, the lowest velocity loads are the Federal Premium Per...

Re: One gun option

No doubt. But the gun in the story was a DA revolver, which is easier to manipulate under stress than a single action. From your story: “He drew a Ruger .454 Casull revolver. There was no time to aim, barely time to squeeze the trigger . He’s not sure whether he got off two shots or three , but one...

Re: One gun option

I agree that a gun that you can shoot accurately, is better than a gun that you can't, but I also think that with enough training and practice, even guns that are not considered to be optimum, like a single action vs a D/A or a heavy recoiling 454 Casull vs a 45 auto, the "less than optimum" guns ca...

Re: One gun option

As much as I like the 44 Blackhawk, and as much as I think a single action revolver is as viable an option as a double action, (having seen Bob Mundon shoot a single action) In fairness Ron, that's a little like saying the NBA is viable career choice for me, since I've seen Michael Jordan play.... ...

Re: Pardner pump or 870 express

If I am not mistaken the H and R is made in China. Get the 870, it's a much better shotgun. The Remington 870 was a great pump gun years ago when they made the 870 wingmaster, but ever since Remington, Marlin, and H&R was taken over by Cerebus Corporation/Freedom Group, both quality control and cus...

Re: henry announces 327 federal lever action carbine

I too am really interesting in this gun. I love lever actions but don't hunt and I don't currently have one. This will be a great flat shooting companion to my SP101. I will get the Steel 20 inch for the extra velocity. If early web reviews show that there are no gains with the longer barrel, I'll ...

Re: One gun option

I have a Sig 226 sao that I really like but if It came down to just one I'd probably take the Glock. I'd get a 10mm conversion for it too. Conversions are tricky. It usually takes some tuning to make them work reliably and most are not truly "Drop-ins" except for the Clarke 460 Rowland conversions ...

Re: Recommendations for new build

Rick at Firearm Finishing could be an excellent start. 509 487 4145. Norm, you did not state caliber but I think a 223 could easily be a 600 yd gun, and a 308 further yet. For a thinner barrel profile Chuck at Cryo Cold could help with any accuracy at 8 bucks /lb. Hope this helps. Agree with all of...

Re: henry announces 327 federal lever action carbine

Yahoo!!!!!! Yall know I want one. the price is a lil high, but I will deal with it I knew you'd be interested, but as far as price, the"Street price" or what they actually sell for for once they're on the market, is generally $100.00 lower than MSRP. In fact, Cabela's lists the Henry Big Boy Steel ...
