Re: Cabela's

I can only think of one guy behind the counter that was actually very helpful when I was shopping for my first pistol. This was before the take a number and they were not very busy. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and actually enjoyed talking about them. The guy that actually sold i...

More Stolen Guns

I was just looking at the KHQ website and there was a story about a woman in Post Falls who had more than 200 guns stolen including a Springfield field grade M1. Lets all be diligent and keep eyes and ears open. Some posters there were already suggesting she sold them and is trying to collect insura...

Re: FFL locations?

I bought a pistol at Cabelas and had it transferred through Sharp Shooting. Cost me $25 but Cabelas gave me a free one day pass to shoot there ($17 value)

Excellent point elkbuster. Guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions until I know the full story. Hope he gets them back and the thieves get caught.

Re: Stolen Firearms

It seems pretty vague on a lot of the items. 9mm? Not even a specific manufacturer? I guess it is easy for me since I only have five guns and have acquired all of them in the last four years. The list of stuff stolen in the paper was incredible. Somebody must have known the people to choose their ho...

Stolen Firearms

I saw on the news last night that over memorial Day Weekend some people out in Nine Mile Falls house was broken into and they had 2 rifles and 20 handguns stolen. They did not have specifics as far as what was taken but said the owner could identify many of them by serial number. Goes to show everyb...

Re: First .22 rifle

Was able to shoot it Saturday. Surprised by the number of jams that I had but also did not clean it before shooting. One thing I didn't notice at the store is that the scope (a crappy Tasco 4 x 32) is actually mounted crooked. My first shots were about 6 inches right at maybe 50 feet. Still working ...

First .22 rifle

Marlin model 60 vs. Savage mark ii.

Right now I am leaning toward the Marlin. I am a fan of the tube feed. Thoughts or suggestions?

Re: Starter Hunting Rifle - Opinions

Just throwing it out there but the Mossberg 100 ATR's have been good to my father in law and me. And I think about the same price range. I got mine at Walmart in Yakima about 4 yeas ago for $245
