I completely agree with you all. I was thinking about heading out there myself but decided against due to how dry everything was. That and people shooting over my head from the top of the little bluff/ridge.

Re: Levers and Revolvers.......
I really enjoy my "old" gun collection of sorts. Winchester Model 71 lever action (first year 1936) in .348 from my Grandfathers collection. I was fortunate enough to get one from his collection. Remington Model 121 in .22 pump action from 1951 that my mother learned to shoot with. I am holding it f...

Re: West Side of State DNR areas?
I am almost 100% the Newman Lake (Hauser) area is closed. I used to visit there as it was wooded and enclosed but everyone kept shooting up the trees and leaving TONS of trash which lead to the shutting down of that area.

Congress May Raise Prices On Ammo & Guns?? H.R. 3018
This article is from FireArmsTalk.com Just when you though Congress had hung up its efforts at unfair gun control, a new bill has just been introduced that targets both firearms and ammunition with an arbitrary tax. And what a tax it is: up to 50% right on the top. About HR3018 This new bill is int...

Re: Watch your back
My addition to this and why I do NOT like fishtrap much.. I was there with my family and my friends family (8 in total) and we were on the small hill on the right after entering the gates and we were having a good time with the .22 rifles. Some young "boys" show up and decide that they are going to ...

Re: Why do you carry a gun?
Because cops show up to the scene to ask questions and cover up the body. They do not show up as the perp is actually DOING the deed. They roll up after and then they ask why you were NOT carrying.

Re: Newman lake range closed
I stated this before in another thread.. But two locations we used are now closed. Mainly, because people are using these spots with no respect or regard to others. Its a shame IMO and saddens me greatly. I enjoyed taking my two daughters to the Newman Lake area because it was close and had nice tre...

Re: Stopped by my LGS the other day!
I swear I keep trying to swing by there to get prices, but can some one give me a general idea of what "competitively priced" could mean? I know this can be difficult, but I would love to have one crafted for a Ruger GP 100 4". Just not sure if that would be 100$ or ??? I do not see any out there fo...

Re: Let me see your lever actions!
Dang, I just noticed this thread and am late to the party. I love showing off what my Grandfather purchased and then gave to me in his will last year. The carving done on the furniture is all his work. Some say it devalued it greatly, but I must disagree... It made it my family heirloom and Priceles...

Re: Shooting areas on Starr Rd south of Mica Pk
To set the answer in stone..
Two places have been set as "NO SHOOTING" as of June 25th of 2013
Up between Newman and Hauser Lakes....
Map of affected area
and down at Mica Peak... Off of Elder Road
Map of affected area
The places keep getting taken away.

Re: Some old winchesters.....
And to be honest, Cabela's gun library is nice to see stuff, but they told me my rifle has non original peep sights installed aftermarket and knocked a chunk off of the appraised value. I did some research and confirmed they were wrong about that. Note that anyone can be wrong and they did do a appr...
