Boggs pit / Deer Park

Post by deerbandit » Fri Apr 18, 2014 7:50 pm

I went there two days ago and it is just full of trash. Someone was using a mattress as a back stop, and someone also dumped a sofa just inside the gate. Worst I have ever seen it.

On the 19th I was out there. 2 individuals were cleaning up the first bay of the range. My girlfriend, her dad and I also packed out a couple bags of stuff from further back where we were shooting. Range is looking better, with the expect ion of the sofa and full garbage bags sitting near the gate. Is there a number to call to get those picked up before someone shoots them up?

I was there Sunday with a few of my kids..

Other than a few forgotten targets and shotgun shells it was on decent shape..

was out there Tuesday trying out some new steel targets. not too bad, a little messy, but not trashed. Talked to the farmer immediately west of the pit. nice guy. I thought he was having tractor problems & asked if I could help. turned out he was just doing some math to figure out why he'd only dropped half the fertilizer he'd planned on. we talked for probably 15 minutes about farming & a job on a hay farm i had up that way for a bit... hopefully help counter some negative influence of the idiots he surely sees up there.
Always looking for 7mm Mauser & 10mm brass.

I was there yesterday and like the Suncrest range DNR has been logging in the area. A new road has been built leading from just past the gate up into the trees. There's lots of bark inside the gate from where they decked the logs however nothing interferes with the shooting areas much. Somewhat trashed up, might be a candidate for a clean-up later when the weather cools a bit.

Well, if you plan on going anywhere near the pit- BRING YOUR OWN SHADE, IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FROM MOTHER NATURE...

The ENTIRE AREA has now been completly stripped of trees, pecker poles is all that remains. :(

Plus somebody brought a bunch of car parts and sattelite dishes to shoot/trash the place with (as usual)

Hello, my dad lives off of westmoreland rd, is it near there? I'm surprised I've never heard of a range out that way. Directions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
