SGT Fall Range Cleanup / Shoot / BBQ!

Post by SGTAnnounce » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:57 am

All details have been consolidated here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4086&start=60#p26658

We need to have an official SGT fall clean-up soon. I've seen other shoots and requests for range clean ups recently, maybe we can combine everything and have one big clean and shoot / BBQ. So... who is in?

What I'd like to hear are some location suggestions. I think all the previous places probably need it again. Give me some suggestions. I'll check and see if the DNR would like to be involved again.

Use the voting buttons to choose the days you can make it.

Thanks!

I was at Deer Park Sunday last and it is already a mess. Maybe a new spot this time and cycle back thru once a quarter or so? I'm in if it is (wow that is a lot of two letter words in a row starting with i ) not a hunting day.

I'd be in depending on the date. BBq is always ready...

I don't have weekends off but I do have Sept 12th open. That's a Sunday. Would love to particpate in a clean up. If it's on another date I could play hooky!

I'd love to come. I'm still working every other weekend, but if it's on one I'm working, I'll try hard to make it.

It would be very cool to get everyone who hasn't yet participated in one to show for the last of the season if for nothing else to see how much fun we have.

End of September, into October, I'd have my weekends freed up again, and willing to assist. 8-)

The 3 day gun show is in November, the first weekend. Like hags, I work every other weekend, so if it is the right weekend I will be there.

I think Ronco and Masonryman are going to do some investigating and give us a report... I'm open as well. They could all probably use it.

:) Well... thanks for coming at all. (For those that don't know Oldsdiva is recovering from a recent injury)

Ronco and I will be looking at the local shooting areas this week.

It was kinda funny Monday... I went to meetup with thumpar and sirgarth for some stuff we were trading and when we all got together here stood Diva (on crutches), sirgarth (on crutches) and thumpar all three with knee injuries they were dealing with and me with 27+ years of carrying too much weight on non-forgiving concrete floors damage to mine. We sure made a team I tell ya what!

One thing to consider when picking a date for the next range clean-up is the fact the ranges are very busy with folks sighting in rifles and busting clay birds getting ready for the upcoming hunting season. I can see some getting upset thinking, "I only use this range one day a year and it is closed for cleaning". Just a thought.

"I only use this range one day a year and it is closed for cleaning".
At which point you point out politely that if they help it will get done sooner, they can sight in and then have a burger. If they don't want to play nice after that brief exchange, then f-em.
