32 Win Sp.

Post by tylerb4613 » Sun Oct 02, 2016 8:24 am

I just got some 32 special dies. I have Hornady's 165 gr. FTX bullet. Does anyone know of the data for this weight of bullet? My Lyman manual only has the load for 170 gr bullets (28gr. of IMR3031 is starting weight). I have researched the internet and it seems like others are having the same question. Supposedly there is data in Hornady's 8th ed. manual and it matches the data for the 170 gr. bullet. Let me know if your manual has this load. Thanks!

There is data for that load on the Hodgdon website.

The Hornady 8th shows the same data for both the 165 Flex Tip and the 170 FP.

IMR 3031 starts at 27.5 and max is 32.8 with a COAL of 2.565. In some calibers using the Flex Tip bullet Hornady states your brass must be trimmed shorter than standard length but there is no mention of this for the 32 Special in the Hornady 8th.
