RCBS, Lyman, Hornady, etc

What is the best one? Pros and cons of each...

I load a few rifle calibers and 44mag on a single stage RCBS.

FWIW I use and really like my Lee Auto DRUM (a lot better than the old Auto DISK).
Easily adjustable, accurate, throws any size charges (comes with large & small drums), and it is a third the price of the RCBS, Lyman, Hornady, etc.
Just my $0.02

I use a electronic charger and scale made by Pact. They are an American company based out of Texas and build the RCBS equipment also. Hornady and Lyman are made in china. The Pact equipment is also less money. They can be purchased at Graff and Sons.

Resurrecting...

Looks like Pact no longer makes an auto dispenser. Lyman is on sale at cabelas right now. Is the RCBS worth almost twice the price for a light user?

My only concern would be that Lyman and Hornady are made in China. Wonder whats up with Pact? They made RCBS at the time I bought mine. Got me nervous now, I'm gonna call them. I have had luck with lymans warranty though. I bought a bullet mould that ended up being crap and they exchanged it.

I bought a Lyman from Sportsman's Warehouse a few months ago when they had them on sale. It was awful, very inconsistent using Varget. I returned it the next day. Thankfully Sportsman's is great about returns. I decided to continue hand weighing for now but when I get in the market again I will buy the RCBS.

Ive been use the chargemaster for at least three or four years now. I have seen some reviws that spoke of it not being as accurate as it should or could be when checked against real high dollar scientific scales. Since its generally all i use, i dont care if its not accurate as long as its precise. I will say that with cylindrical powders there may be a slight one or two loads that a few more kernels fell out as the scale was realizing that it had reached weight. I always wait and see what the final weight is after it beeps and gives the load count before touching the pan.
Hope this helps

Normally I set my charge 3 or 4 tenths under when using difficult powders, then use the trickle feature on the dispenser. This is still way faster than using my balance scales.

I have a Hornady that I have been using for a few years and it works excellent 95% of the time! the other 5% I just set it a little under and manually trickle it. It is a huge time saver. Have never had a problem with it at all, I take a test weight every so often while I'm loading on my electronic scale and it is always dead on

I got the Hornady auto charge system from cabelas during a hell of a deal week. It was a sale on top of a sale type thing and I got it for like 60.00....? or somewhere in that ball park. Couldn't pass it up. It was on sale and if you entered a code it was an even better deal
