Hey everyone - quick question. I inherited around 200 reloaded 243 rounds and have no need for them. The head stamp is actually 308. Am wondering how safe it would be to resize these back to 308 for plinking rounds? Obviously would have to pull the 243 projectiles and then resize the brass. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
using 308 brass for 243 then back to 308

Forming the brass would not be the problem. What might be though is after they were formed to 243 , they were trimmed to size. and after you bring them back to 308 you may not have enough case neck left. Also it's a lot of work to get 200 inexpensive cases. 308s are very popular.

Necking 308 down to 243 may require the neck to be reamed so there is not an excessive amount of neck wall thickness for the chamber. After reaming, I would have to agree with Call Turner, the wall thickness would be too thin to from back to 308. The wall will probably split or crush when trying to seat a 308 bullet.
