296 Pistol powder

Post by Rigger28 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 8:17 pm

I bought some Win 296 to load hot .357 loads because Cabelas didn't have any H110. My Lyman and Speer manuals both list "296" for .357 but not "Win 296". I'm assuming these are the same powder they just left the "Win" out of the manual. Does anyone have any input? Thanks.

296 is Winchester 296. Your Speer manual probably has 296 listed under Winchester powders in a front section of the manual.
H110 is the same powder as 296. Hodgdon has data for both on their web site.
