Help

So im new to the whole reloading game i picked up some stuff on trade and im trying to reload 223 556 i get the sizing part but when it comes to crimping the bullet it just slides back in the case ive tried everything that ive read and looked up online what am i do wrong ? I seen where they say stick the bullet you wanna load into the die set the die till it touches then set the depth knob till it hits the top of the bullet that didnt even work

What type of cases are you trying to load? Brass ? Did you full length size? Seating die should be adjusted to contact the case when it is in the raised position then backed off 1 full turn. Tighten the lock ring. Now adjust your bullet seater down to make contact with a bullet on top of your case about 1/4 of a turn at a time until you reach your cartridge over all length.

I don't know what's going on, but the problem is not the crimp. The case neck has to be sized so that it grips the bullet tightly without any crimp.
Some reloading manuals, Speer for sure, have good, step-by-step instructions. I think RCBS and Hornady have how-to videos on line.

There's 100's maybe 1000s of folks that reload that live in Spokane.

I'm sure you can find a few that for maybe a cup of coffee and a plate of donuts that will be glad to spend some time with you.

Seating and crimping are 2 different things. Which step is not working for you? I would recommend not worrying about the crimp to start with. Get things working with just seating them first.

You tube it also...I don't even crimp 223/556.
