Is that a 500 round brick of t-bolts? If so 6.4 cents a round isn't too bad for these days. The amazing thing is that they have them...Call Turner wrote:Been in the Sportsmans Warehouse a couple times in the last few weeks and noticed 22 shells on the shelf. Always looking for a deal on more ammo and reloading components.

Re: 22's Available
I haven't shot any rem Thunderbolts lately but prior to the shortages it was the worst quality 22 rimfire ammo I ever encountered. You could tell by the sound each shot made that there must ahve been a 100 fps difference in velocity deviation and some wouldn't cycle in either a marlin mod4el 60 or as Ruger challenger. I would want to only try a couple of 50 round boxes to see if the current manufactured ammo is any better. I would not recommend buying a whole brick of that ammo if it's as crappy as it used to be.BC38 wrote:Is that a 500 round brick of t-bolts? If so 6.4 cents a round isn't too bad for these days. For me and my guns, It's CCI all the way. Reasonably priced bricks of Blazers packed in 50 round boxes is what I'm waiting for as well as 6-7 dollar 100 count boxes of mini-mags. Also green tag or standard velocity for my Ruger Mark II and CCI velocitors are also on my wish list.

Re: 22's Available
I defiantly understand where your coming from. I haven't seen a brick of Blazers for years. Black Sheep sells them by the box - $5 ea. I heard that CCI was manufacturing shells for federal and I believe Remington but I don't know about the quality. This post was just a FYI for folks that need shells to plink.

Federal and CCI are owned by the same company but for some reason the Federals don't seem to be as good as the CCI's.Call Turner wrote:I defiantly understand where your coming from. As far as ammo just to plink with, it's no fun plinking if the ammo that you're using isn't reasonably accurate, and again. I would not recommend buying a whole brick of ammo that might not be of good quality. Better to buy a couple 50 round boxes of the same stuff first and see how good it is.

I wonder if there was a bad batch or three? Because I've shot quite a bit of t-bolt and had no problems with it....

I've had mixed results with t bolt too. Federal 325 packs work awesome IMO, but nothin beats mini mags.

Yeah, no doubt about mini-mags being the best, but a 12 cents around they're about twice too rich for my blood!RRA629 wrote:I've had mixed results with t bolt too. Federal 325 packs work awesome IMO, but nothin beats mini mags.
Blazers are a pretty good second in my experience. Then Federal. Then Remington GB or T-bolts.

The only .22 ammo that I have ever had problems with is Winchester.

Thanks Bourbon,
I would bet those are the high velocity shorts, they have the same thing in Cheney at the BI-Mart. I picked up some the other day to try.

What kind of gun do you have that only shoots standard velocity shorts? is it a beretta jetfire?Bob R wrote:Thanks Bourbon,

Re: 22's Available
It's not the gun, it's the ammo. I want quiet for pest control. I will use the high velocity shorts but would prefer standard velocity because all of my shots will be inside of 40 yds, most much closer.
