Need headlamp suggestions
I currently have a Pelican Heads-Up Lite headlamp. I hate using it for hunting because it makes these extremely loud "clicks" when I'm adjusting the beam up or down and the brightness is weak as hell. I'm in the market for a new one and would like it to be under $40 and doesn't make noise when adjusting the beam. Any suggestions? Do the Petzls make clicking noises when adjusted? Thanks.

Re: Need headlamp suggestions
I buy these, they do click but it's not too bad, they are cheap and rechargeable and BRIGHT

I also have these, not as bright but still good. Clicks even less, if at all

Hope this helps. anyways for the price its worth a shot

Re: Need headlamp suggestions
I've used several headlamps for my work over the years & have never found one that adjusts w/out the geared (clicking) design. Not sure if such a design is available, may have to mod it yourself.

Re: Need headlamp suggestions
Hope this isn't late info but here is my suggestion.
My favorite headlamp is a Fenix. There is no model number anywhere on it, but there is a number on the lense housing of F2VZDZ01679.
It has 4 brightness settings, plus a strobe setting. This thing goes from a good level for looking around inside your tent or pack to bright, brighter and BRIGHT!!! I think the high setting is 300+ lumens. I know it beats my 275 lumen flashlight.
Uses 4 AA batteries and while the lamp angle is adjustable, it moves very quietly. I think Fenix offers colored lense covers too.
Hope that helps

Just looked and this looks like the current version of mine. Mine does not have the 900 lumen burst mode. It's over your $40 price, but an awesome light.
