Threaded?

Post by Mossy » Sun Jun 12, 2016 4:22 am

I know nothing about glocks and I tried looking on their website with no results so...which of their models come with factory threaded barrels?

I don't think any of the come with a threaded barrel. You have to buy it separately.

You can buy factory glocks that come with threaded barrels. Buyer beware, the threads are left handed. I found out the hard way when trying to put a comp on mine. Better to buy an aftermarket threaded barrel, that has right hand threads, and a much tighter lock up.

I like the idea that there are factory threaded barrels available but not the idea that they have an oddball left-hand thread. I'd sure want to know that before I went out and bought one.

There LH thread, but it's not a problem, every major suppressor manufacture makes threads for them.
16x1 LH and 13.5x1 LH
Sig
Glock
Hk
There is absolutely no problem with them.
Plus I prefer factory barrels to MOST, not all aftermarket barrels especially for running suppressors.

I'm glad you cleared that up. I have no experience with suppressors and have no idea what the common thread sizes are of if Left hand threads are common or not . It just seems like in every industry a lack of industry standardization tends to cause numerous headaches. I imagined Glock using some oddball thread that was different than what was considred standard.

I would prefer a Glock barrel to a lone wolf barrel anytime even though I have had a couple of good LW barrels. But other people I know have had problems. I also have a KKM barrel that is excellent.

The reasoning for the LH thread, or at least what they claim, is that the rotation of the bullet would tighten and not loosen the suppressor if it was not tight enough. I think you have other issues if the fired bullet is tightening the suppressor but that is what they say.
