Ported Barrel for G21SF

Post by Cameron Kaputa » Fri Apr 14, 2017 11:45 am

I have carried and shot a G19, G26, and a G21 for year's. I started using a G21SF a couple of years ago. Also a S&W 629 3" barrel with 4 Mag-na-port ports.

I have been thinking about a Lone Wolf barrel with 2 or 4 ports on the G 21SF.

Any advice or ideas from the group?

Ive never had any issues or hiccups with a lonewolf ported, or non-ported barrel. GTG in my opinion.

Any noticeable differences between 2 and 4 ports?

The 4 ports are further back on the barrel and directly pointed at the front sight. Lone wolf doesn't tell you this in the description, then treats you like an idiot because you should have known that you can only run a brass bead front sight with their barrels. Then they'll dick you around on a refund, coming up with any reason not to refund you. Lord help you if you got any custom work (like laser engraving the crown) because that makes it 1000% unrestockable, but they'll be happy to lap off .005 (the depth of the engraving apparently) so you can sell it on eBay. End of the day, I wound up with $400 in paperweights.

Also, the 4 port only works if you have openings in your slide, otherwise you blow a bunch of pressure into the internals of your pistol, potentially blowing it up in your hand. Or so I'm told.

Having said all that, I didn't notice a huge difference between ported and non ported, at least not $100+ dollars worth of difference.

I have some ported hand guns, and can't tell any diff in recoil between any of them. If your Glock 21 shoots fine the way it is, leave it alone and spend the money on more ammo or trigger work.

Thanks for the information guys. I made a decision on an extended barrel with four ports from Lone Wolf via the Glock Doc. We will see how I like it and how my front sight holds up.
