Pic of a stealhead I caught on the Clearwater river in 2010. We catch quite a few like this one every year. I am looking forward to December 8th and 9th this year!

When my father inlaw retired back in the 1990's he dreamed of fishing in Alaska...I grew up in Alaska and understood his desire. In 2001 he sold a piece of timber land and flew up to Ketchikan, took a 3 hour ferry ride over to Prince of Wales Island and started looking for his dream. He ended up in a place called Naukati Bay. He bought a really nice place on the water but it was too rocky (big rocks) to launch a boat from...so after 5 years they sold that place and bought a place at the end of the road that did. They've added a new cabin, large shop, a boat house & even built a boat ramp. Now all we do is wake up, load up the boat & hit the remote switch and we're rolling down the track into the water. I have gone up every summer for the past 11 years for a couple of weeks and fish till my hands are numb. Salmon, Halibut, Ling Cod, Red Snapper (Yellow Eye) are bountiful, plus we have crab & shrimp pots that we put out each morning on our way out to our fishing spots on Sea Otter Sound & Warren Channel. The last couple of years I've even been able to talk my wife into going...she has really enjoyed the adventure as well.

Very nice setup ^^^

I've got to start taking more pictures now that we have a bragging wall ;) Heres a couple I had on my phone from earlier this year. Both are during/after Columbia River Walleye trips, same spot, different days. Jigging from the bank with worms.

We dropped these off at my uncles, him and his dog posed for the pic.

Salps... I felt a gut shot when I saw this picture. I miss sturgeon fishing in Oregon SO much since I moved back up.

I've always thought that Sturgeon tasted like Maine lobster! Smoked sturgeon is one of my favorites as well!!

Great picture! Thanks for sharing!

We have a couple of secret spots there that your can catch keepers and oversize all day along in the spring. Blackened, smoked, battered, canned etc.... If you really want some fun go below Bonnville dam and catch & release 10 to 15 footers is a blast. I used to guide in Or. sturgeon was my favorite.

We used to put in at Scottsburg park off 38 on the Umpqua and we'd run down about half way to Reedsport. We never came home empty handed.
