When it comes to EDC, I've always carried cheap pocket knives and often just work supplied box cutters since I lose them often. I'm wanting to buy my daughters boyfriend a decent pocket knife for his birthday (yes we get along and go shootng together...lol).
I don't know what is good or junk so I'm turning to you all to give me suggestions.
75 bucks or less
Single blade, no tool boxes in a pocket
Something that can be carried in a pocket easily not on a belt.
Thanks, in advance.

Re: EDC Suggestions
I have a drawer full of "EDC" knifes what I find myself carrying 90% of the time is one fo my Buck Vantage's. http://www.buckknives.com/product/vanta ... 0845BKS-B/ these are produced in a variety of handle and blade materials and colors to suite your fancy. These have a pocket clip that allows the knife to ride very low in the pocket and not advertise its presence. Big enough to be a serious knife and yet lite enough not to weigh down dress pants.
Best bet would be to take him on the Buck factory tour in Post Falls ID and visit the company store after the tour. The knifes in the store are discounted and they always have a good selection.
If your a steel junky they also produce it in S30V, http://www.buckknives.com/product/vanta ... 0847BLS-B/ a superb steel, a bit of a pain to sharpen however holds an edge very well. Did I mention that they also sharpen their knifes for a very reasonable price?

Buck Vantage is a great knife for what you want. I carry mostly the Spyderco Endurance Wave or Spyderco Yojimbo. Spyderco makes excellent combative blades but my Vantage tactical in S30V is equal in every way. If you are Militaty or retired military yo can get a 40% discount at the Buck Factory store in Post Falls.

Re: EDC Suggestions
I got the Buck for Christmas. Nice knife...
I had been carrying the Smith and Wessons. Mostly the Border Patrol. I like them too. Especially for the price.
Big 5 has the Border Patrol on sale for $12 every month or so. It is a little big, but capable.

Great minds think alike buddy! I almost had Matt Freeman at CMFTW wave mod one of my Yojimbos. Course that would have made Mike Janich's head explode!bladebum wrote:I still carry a Spyderco Endura Wave... Without fail, every day.

Re: EDC Suggestions
Thanks to everyone that responded. I've never been to the buck tour and really like that idea. Think we will do that and I'll let him pick one out while there....and pick up a vantage for myself.
