While the Mike Janich designed Spyderco Yojimbo has been a favorite of mine since introduced, the lack of a easily sourced training blade has always bothered me. Its my opinion that if you carry a knife for defensive applications you should have a matched trainer. At a minimum you can at least practice drawing the knife from your pocket and applying a defensive technique without cutting yourself. So I was quite pleased when Mr Janich was able to get Spyderco to produce a run of Yojimbo trainers. The trainer works great for solo practice and for partner drills.
