Here's mine....Benchmade 'RSK'. Just bought a Buck/Simonich 'Raven ' as well to fill the fixed blade category.

Ka-Bar TDI is a great little knife with a lot of carry options. I like it!

Re: What's Your EDC?
I carry a Opinel # 9 most days but If I have the occasion to wear a suit and tie an Opinel No.10 Effile Bubinga Handle Is my "dress'' knife. I find that the opinel #9 is very lightweight for it's size and strong as it need to be if I don't use it as a pry bar. To me a pocket knife is a cutting tool and not a hacking tool or crowbar. And the opinel no.10 Effile is a lot like one of those Finnish or swedish filet knives and the thin blade is like a straight razor or a scalpel and doesn't require brute force to do it's job.
I used to carry spyderco endura's and butterfly knives as weapons but now I carry a gun. That's not to say that a knife can't serve as a backup to a gun though. But I'm not a good at hand to hand combat as I once was though occasionally I still carry a butterfly knife or an OTF and sometimes even a sword cane and I don't worry about legality because I'm an upright gray-haired citizen and I behave myself and no LEO is ever going to feel the need to pat me down or ask me to show him what kind of knife I'm carrying. Especially since the first order of concern would be my firearm which I carry legally. But I've carried a pocketknife ever since I was a kid and I like knives and always have one on me.

Government is not reason, it is not eloquence — it is force. Like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.

Lately it's been the Hinderer. I've carried a lot of Kershaws over the years though.

Re: What's Your EDC?
Here is the way the Washington State Legislature defines what knives are not a spring blade knife: A knife that contains a spring, detent, or other mechanism designed to create a bias toward closure of the blade and that requires physical exertion applied to the blade by hand, wrist, or arm to overcome the bias toward closure to assist in opening the knife is not a spring blade knife.bladebum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2013 11:05 amhttp://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=9.41.250Justin wrote:
What differentiates an auto from a spring assisted? My buddy has the AK47 or whatever knife that opens with a button which is considered auto, I believe. The leek opens by pushing the nub sticking out from the back. Effectively the same exact thing....
Auto = One action to deploy. (push the button)
Assisted = Dual action. (start the opening process then the spring "assists" with the final opening)
Sooo if it has a spring that assists in the opening of the knife, and you have to push against that spring to close it, it is not a spring blade knife.
The Leek is legal...if it has a button it's not because then the spring is opening the knife, not assisting in the opening of the knife.
Counties in Washington can have more restrictive laws though.
A Boker Kwaiken in the back pocket and a Schrade 863 in the front are my choice for EDC

I have two. For more dressed up occasions I have a knife my kids got me for father's day. And for my work day and going out and about my serrated sheep's foot Griptillian.

Older picture but this is a Jake Hoback OSF that I carry most days. Damn near bombproof flipper that is as smooth as you could ask for.

Re: What's Your EDC?
I rotate between a kershaw blur in od green
a blue benchmade bugout
and a Ontario Rat1 in fde
but I'm picking up spyderco manix2 in g10 and stainless soon so it will most likely push the Rat1 out of rotation
