Cold Steel Kukri.

J/K ;) Although from what I can tell you could legally carry one in Spokane county as I didn't see any blade length restrictions in the regs. So, you can't carry an auto-knife, but a war blade is fine(?).....mmmmk. Recently though I've become a Benchmade fan & carry an RSK(similar to Griptilian but a wider blade w/ different steel).

I thought I looked it up one time and found it was. I have several assisted-opening Kershaws. Could be wrong.

I hate grey areas in laws, especially the RCW's with weapons. I was always under the impression the assisted opening fell under the "auto" umbrella for knives.

It very well may. I was googling a little and found a bill from late last year that was supposed to open up the laws. Didn't follow up to see wether it passed or not.

I've had an assisted opening kershaw since my jr year in high school, I'd be hard pressed to give them up.

Here is my Case XX from 1952. It was my Grandfathers and when he passed away, it was given to me by his request. It is my Everyday carry pocket knife. Nothing special like all these flip folders and what not, but time has proven that it does the job... And well. I hone it myself and keep it razor sharp. I have shaved with it. :) (Had to prove a point to my wife that it was sharp)

Auto knives are a no go in Washington. Spring assisted ones are ok. :)

What differentiates an auto from a spring assisted? My buddy has the AK47 or whatever knife that opens with a button which is considered auto, I believe. The leek opens by pushing the nub sticking out from the back. Effectively the same exact thing....

Auto = One action to deploy. (push the button)
Assisted = Dual action. (start the opening process then the spring "assists" with the final opening)

Kershaw Scallion for utility work and a Spyderco Delica for self defense! Never mix the two. :D

SOG X-Ray Vision. Picked it up slightly used for $30. Wasn't sure how I would feel about the tanto blade but I've come to like it. The location of the clip is awkward for me since I do a support-side carry in case I ever need my knife and my gun out at the same time (likely, right?).
America is at that awkward stage... It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.
