1918
My folks go to a lot of auctions buying stuff for there store, my dad had a box of gun related stuff he gave me to look through and then throw whatever I didn't want (mostly garbage). In the bottom of the box was this US 1918 it's pretty rough, but still a cool find, thought I would share. There around but I havnt seen to many locally.

Good find! A nice piece of history.

Very cool. Don't clean it up or polish it, it will ruin the value. I'd put a coat of oil on it but that's it.

Re: 1918
I've had it a couple years now, I cleaned the dirt off it and have left it alone. The blade is full, the tip is not broken off and has the skull buster. It is a nasty looking tool for sure! I wish I had the sheath for it.

Re: 1918
Nice find!
I always thought the U.S produced 1918 is a lot better looking than it's French produced (for U.S forces) counterpart, although they are very similar.
I am having difficulty reading the manufacturers information on the handle but it appears yours is a Landers,Frary & Clark made example (most commonly encountered producer).
Finding the correct sheet metal scabbard on this loose is unfortunately going to be a somewhat tough and expensive proposition, but there are replicas available if you want one as a stopgap measure.

I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
