Do you need caliber specific muzzle breaks etc..

Post by ChaseK » Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:01 pm

I just got a ruger American predator in 6.5 creedmor with a threaded barrel and was looking around at my options for muzzle breaks and other things like flash suppressor's and I didn't see a whole lot for 6.5 but quite a bit for 308 and other calibers. Would it affect my accuracy or anything if I used a .30 caliber one?

The 6.5 is .270 caliber so a .30 cal muzzle device should work. Not sure if it would affect accuracy however. Not sure you would need a brake or FH, especially on a budget rifle. Spend your money on a good optic.

I believe 6.5 is .264 cal. But anyway, a 30 cal brake can be used. Accuracy should not be effected but you would lose most of the effectiveness of the brake. The clearance would be to much.
