Re: Reliable every day Carry in 9mm
Personally I like a single stack and carry an S&W Shield with the 8 round magazine plus the seven round as a back up. Conceals very nicely and is comfortable in my OWB leather holster at 3:00. My holster has belt slots for either the FBI cant or vertical position. I like the cant better than the vertical but in the cant position I had trouble getting my wallet out of my back pocket. Veritcal, no problem.

Re: Reliable every day Carry in 9mm
Well, the Glock 19 is one of the most widely conceal carried handguns in the nation, if not the most widely concealed carry handgun... So, you really couldn't go wrong with it. The 19, or 17 for that matter, are dead nuts reliable and there's a ton of accessories and after market parts for either one.
I personally rotate between my Honor Defense Honor Guard (think improved S&W shield) and my S&W M&P 2.0 compact which is the same size as the Glock 19, but a better grip angle, for me personally.

In my opinion the G17 is too big for daily carry. The G19 is ok but the grip is just a hair to long and isn't comfortable when sitting in chair especially in a vehicle with form fitting seats. The G26 is just right.

Along with a S&W Shield in 9mm, I carry a G27 with G23 mags and X GRIPs. This gives me the option of sub-compact/IWB carry or a longer grip with higher round capacity/OWB carry. Works the same for a G26 with G19 mags...

I carry a G21. It used to be a G19 and/or a G26 with the 19 mag with a sleeve over the mag.
Your key word was reliable. A Glock is reliable, boringly reliable.

Depends on your frame and attire. Are you going to be CC or OC? If OC, I'd say G17. For CC, I carry an M&P9. I love the 17+1 capacity and the way it's configured. Fits my hands perfectly, carries well and goes bang every time.

I'll add a vote for a G19.
I'm not a small guy so I can carry a G34 or G20. But I always end up going back to a 19.
I got a great custom AIWB holster with a built in mag pouch. It's what I am carrying 90% of the time

My $.02 worth, G19's are incredible. I refer to Glocks as a "Willy's flat fendered Jeep", they aren't pretty and do everything you need, faithfully!! IMHO, Glock would be the way to go!!
