22LR ammo

Post by brettov » Mon Mar 25, 2013 4:24 pm

Whats the local price on 22lr ammo by the 500rnd brick now .I have a friend that was at that giant Arizona shoot this weekend .He said California venders are getting $80 a brick and that a vendor at the shoot sold 500 bricks for $50 a brick in one afternoon . Sounds crazy to me .

I didn't see that 22lr ammo was such a hot under the collar topic until after I posted this .I was just amazed people were paying those jacked prices .Well except for the people in California .

I'm still finding 22lr bricks for under $25.00!! I laugh my ass off at the people on here selling them for $40 or higher, I even find it more amusing that people are buying it for that much

Where are you finding them? I'm not finding any 22 LR ammo Period, but I haven't been looking that hard since I have enough on hand to wait out the panic. And while supposedly beggars can't be choosers, I don't want to buy anything but CCI Blazers and I'd prefer the bricks with individual boxes rather than loose ammo.

Last time a saw a brick (it was a small 375 box) it was $25 at blacksheep. I haven't seen one in a long time anywhere. If you find a brick today you're lucky. I'm checking the ammo shelves on a regular basis at multiple locations. I've had good luck with 9mm though, I have purchased locally over 1700 rounds since late January to present.

Last week BiMart had a shipment of 22 come in. My buddy was there shortly after on other business, saw it and bought some. $17.99 a brick. Their normal sale price.

Anytime you pay a scalper HIS price for an item you reinforce his opinion that he can charge what he wants, therefor a $20 brick of 22LR does, infact, become a $50 brick of 22LR. This shortage will moderate to some degree and things will calm down, meanwhile try your best to resist the urge to pay unreasonable prices for things you do not absolutely have to have RIGHT NOW. You will be doing us all a favor be resisting this temptation.

It's selling for $100 a brick and higher on Gunbroker, plus freight. At least some of the better quality stuff is.

Selling, not asking.

Just paid under $18.00 plus tax for Remington, you would have to be goofy to pay $100 .

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door to the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

time of the veido witch was 4years old not to mention all the other ammo plants.

The ammo shortage ITSELF make no sense. Obama, who like a DUMB sh!t,, CAUSED the whole panic, did so by threatening to ban GUNS, not ammo, but people simply feared for the worst.

But the reason why 22LR has become such a big problem is because it's so much cheaper than center-fire ammo that people can hoard it in much larger quantities. And with shortages, once something is hard to get, as soon as even a small amount becomes available the minute any quantity becomes available if gets bought up immediately which causes the panic to continue.

CCI in Lewiston production of 22 (all flavors) is between 28,000,000 and 30,000,000 rounds per WEEK....not 4,000,000,000 per DAY.

I've been told that they are approximately 4 months from catching up on back orders.
As to where it's all going??... I have no idea....there isn't a brick of Blazer(or any other brand) for sale anywhere in the L/C Valley............. Not Tri-State, not Black Sheep, not Lolo, not BiMart, not Ace, and all the Pawn shops have only hugely marked up odds and sods. Even Diamondback Shooting Range has only a limited amount for range use only.
Welcome to my home..........FYI... that locked door you kicked down was for your protection....not mine.

Last time I got some was about 1 month ago at blacksheep for $17 a brick, they had about 500 boxes? Maybe more. 2 kinds Blazer RN 36grain 500 per box, American Eagle?(Red box with a bald eagle) 425 round box HP 38grain. I might be off on the grains. 2 per customer, so I just grabbed the blazer so I had something to shoot.
