It really depends... I usually buy a brick or 2 each time I go to Wally World - my 22's like the Winchester 333 packs. The other stuff (223/45/40) I pick up where it's on sale. Picked up a few boxes of 223 at Sharp yesterday for $5/box. White Elephant, Cabela's.

Big R on Trent, Mead, and Colville have great prices on Federal American Eagle handgun ammo. Best I have found in the area unless you find a door buster sale at the big box stores.

I like the shadle walmart for 9mm. General store usually has .22lr on sale. Haven't shopped .223 in a while but white elephant had PMC last time I bought it. I reload now so really only buy .22lr from a store.

I have pretty much went the mail order route, and from time to time, I buy from Surplus Ammo at the gun show when their prices are in line with mail order companies, otherwise, WalMart.

Have you ever ordered from Grafs? they have the best prices on shipping. Right now they have 45 ACP Blazer ammo for 16.99 a box, and I think you can get up to ten boxes without paying any more than the $5.00 handling charge for shipping for the whole order. The most I've ever ordered was 5 boxes at a time of different calibers. They've also got Wolf 9mm for $8.99 a box. Another good thing about Graf's is sometimes they have a certain brand or caliber of ammo that you cant find locally.

That being said, hat's off to Blackfire for offering to find the best deals locally. It's good to support our local economy even if we have to pay a dollar more for a box of ammo after you factor in the shipping. Blackfire can be found at our local gun shows selling clips as well as ammo.

I was there yesterday and noticed that price but didn't get any because I bought a gun instead.

Wal-mart is selling guns $1.00 over cost and I had hoped to get a 10-22 for around $150, but their cost was about $170 and their profit margin was only about 40 bucks because the non-sale price was about $217 for the plain jane 10-22.

So I ended up getting a marlin model 60 for $130. This was the Shadle Wally World and the sale has been extended through Feb. Anyone wanting a nice .308 bolt gun they had Savages 110's there for around 300 and the new "Edge" model for less but the 110 is a better gun and you can upgrade it or switch calibers on the pay-as-you-go plan.

For me, it's not often that I get to buy a brand new gun with a tight virgin barrel that's never been pentrated or abused by anyone else's cleaning rod.

If anyone here shoots alot of trap or skeet. YOU CANNOT beat the prices at bi mart....5 dollar membership. I buy almost all my ammo out there as it is also consistantly cheaper for 30-30 and .22 ammo. last shells i bought out there were estates at $4.99 a box and before that some quicker remington game loads at $4.50 a box. If they dont have it in stock you can get a raincheck and almost everytime they have let me buy more than the limit of one case at that price.Last weekend i got 5 cases of those estates.
