Re: is this still accurate?
Well, I ended up going the cheap route. I picked up the Taurus PT1911 NIB at the gun show last weekend. In my opinion I got the best deal I could have with only $150 cash and 2- .22's (lightly Used Beretta U22 Neos pistol and Mossberg 715T rifle) The rifle I had just picked up last week for $185 and...

Re: Steel and aluminum cases
Trades at the scrapyard are a good idea, I was going to take in all the .22 shells sometime this week, thanks for mentioning that I wouldn't have even thought to ask.

Re: Winchester Mod 94 1970 LONE STAR 30-30
Winchester did a bunch of manufactured "commemoratives" in the 60's , 70's and 80's. Some of them were made in different variations and in large numbers. Unless they are new in box, unfired, with outer sleeve, paperwork, etc., most don't bring much more than any other used 94. http://www.doublegun....

Re: 22LR ammo
Last time I got some was about 1 month ago at blacksheep for $17 a brick, they had about 500 boxes? Maybe more. 2 kinds Blazer RN 36grain 500 per box, American Eagle?(Red box with a bald eagle) 425 round box HP 38grain. I might be off on the grains. 2 per customer, so I just grabbed the blazer so I ...

Steel and aluminum cases
I am semi new to reloading and was wondering if anyone had experience with reloading steel or aluminum cases? I've done some looking and read that you can, can't and others just say you shouldn't. I came across enough posts of people who had success with multiple reloads in both that it made me ques...

Re: Should I prep brass before selling it?
Thanks for that, I'll be trying to trade up so maybe I'll do both.
Once fired rifle brass has been out of stock for sometime now from the 2 places I used to get it.
Most of what I'll be trading Is .40 up to around 1000 rounds but I still have 3 more boxes to deal with

Should I prep brass before selling it?
I have brass for calibers I do not use and was wondering if I should prep it by de-priming and clean/polishing first?
Once I have it all sorted I'll be putting it up on here for Trade/Sale
I have the tools and time to do it, but if its not going to add to the value too much I'll just bag it all.

Re: brass cleaning
To avoid dealing with dry media we went with a ultra sonic. I wanted shinny brass so for 12$? out at cabella's I picked up "IOSSO" Case Cleaner Kit. All it is, is a bucket, mesh draw sting bag and a quart of this cleaner stuff. It only takes SECONDS!!! even on super dirty brass it gives it a polishe...

Re: Winchester Mod 94 1970 LONE STAR 30-30
Yeah, I came across that when I was doing some research, I guess there must just be more than one variation of each type. I tried to find production numbers for each model but could only find two variation numbers. I found mine so that made me feel a little better.

Re: Rate your local gunshops
Hands down for me it would be NW Pawn. They treated me like a loyal customer before I ever bought a single thing. They also took the time to show me quite a few guns and go over quite a bit of information. #2 is the Shadle Walmart, I know their no gun shop, but prior to the BS this last winter they ...

Winchester Mod 94 1970 LONE STAR 30-30
I had a question I haven't found info on the web for yet. Last gun show I went to I came across a guy who had the exact same gun as I did, 1970 LONE STAR 30-30 His was New in the box, mine is used, no box/papers. The guns looked identical except two major differences, the barrel on his gun was round...

Re: is this still accurate?
Yeah, at $1200 almost $800 off the retail I don't think I could find a better 1911 for that price period. If only it was the end of AprilBigDeeeeeeee wrote:If you can stretch your budget a little this is more gun than a kimber.

Re: is this still accurate?
Yeah, used is something I am defiantly looking for as well as a full size frame (the Kimber Custom is a 5.25" barrel) Reliability should't even be a factor IMHO, (Glock's, Beretta 92FS, Ruger Revolvers all just work) I understand that 1911s are different and it is/can be an issue with them sometimes...

Re: is this still accurate?
Maybe I should clarify, I don't think the Kimbers are too expensive per-say, it's just that I keep hearing their over priced. And since I'm on a budget if I can get the same quality gun for 200-300 less, i'd rather do that than pay more for the same gun with a different name engraved on it. I am by ...

http://anarchangel.blogspot.com/2008/02/so-you-want-to-buy-1911-basic-primer.html?m=1 So the publication date is a few years old, do any of you experts out there know if most of the information its still accurate?
