They should be taper pins. Tap the skinnier end and they should back right out.

Re: Ar 15 vs. bear
I ditched my AR for woods carry and have an AK pistol with the Sig "brace" on it now. AP 7.62x39 I figure will give me pretty good odds against a grizz, and should kill about any blackie. Not that I ever want to find out, but I feel comfortable with it. I have personally watched a 300WM round ricoc...

Re: Transfer of a Firearm to a Utah Resident?
You're good to go with how you described. Handgun transfers just must take place in the state of residence of the recipient (she can't come to WA and get it from you)

If you don't mind bumping up to a 5", why not just get a factory G20 barrel?

Re: Reloads or Handloads for personal carry
Factory for legal purposes. If you ever had to use it and got sued or charged they could say you loaded the rounds to be deadlier than they should be. I use Personal Defense rounds when carrying. That same argument can/will be used for any modification done to your pistol. I just do what I want and...

The 517 uses a flat bow trigger. Beyond that, i'm not sure what the differences are.dmoua wrote:Is there a difference or just preference between the 510 and 517?

Re: FFL transfers from idaho to washington?
As far as I know, a long gun transfer can be done in either state of residence, but a handgun transfer must be done in the buyer's state of residence. If you are shipping the gun, you will either need to find an FFL near you to send it to an FFL near him, or if his FFL will accept a package from a n...

Re: red dot magnifiers...?
I'd buy a dedicated 1-4x scope before i'll ever own another magnifier. Definitely one of those things that just seems like a good idea. In practicality, when the magnifier is not in use, it takes away half of your field of view still. Just not for me.

Re: AR optics???
Yeah, get a 1-4x or 1-6x and have the best of both worlds. There's a reason you see so many 3-gun competitors running these optics when engaging targets at 5m to 400m in the same stage.
Budget, get the Vortex Viper PST 1-4x
No budget, get a Vortex Razor HD 1-4x or HD GenII 1-4x

Re: dumb Ar question
you shouldn't be using the charging handle to chamber the first round to begin with. Lock back the bolt, insert mag, press bolt release. The way you are describing is similar to slowly moving the slide forward on a handgun, causing many to fail to return all the way to battery by not allowing the sp...
