From a simple Google search; basically a commercial Mauser action:

Re: Hot blueing?

The solder holding the barrels together omits the use of hot blueing on double barrels. A variety of good cold blue alternatives now exist.

You might check with The White Elephant store in Spokane Valley. They tend to have a few available.

Thanks To M/F Couple P/U Of Fishtrap Range Trash 12/10

My wife and I happened to drive by Tuesday 12/10 as a M/F couple were picking up bag after bag of shooting range trash from the shooting pit across from the Fishtrap Resort turn road. Thank you two very, very much; you both appeared to be at it for some time.

Re: Stolen guns Liberty Lake/Stateline area

Did your parents file a police report and if so, request a case #? With some diligence on their part, they can request to talk to the detective assigned to the case and if none has been assigned ask, "Why not?!?" Make sure mention is made of the gun shop having the serial # on file and do not omit d...

Way over due; the "Free For All" madhouse was both dangerous and destructive. I never understood why the ponds area was included in the recreational shooting zone.

Re: Gun appraisal (Model 39)

With the pics, consider contacting firearms expert Garry James of Guns & Ammo Magazine:

garry.james@outdoorsg.com

He gives an accurate estimate of worth with the firearm's history in his Guns & Ammo column.

Re: Gun appraisal (Model 39)

Great advice Blacklon66...All very true. Unless you are one of the "Favored Few" at the recommended pawn shop, expect a very "low ball" estimate of worth. Sorry, I still carry a bit of a grudge toward someone who low balled me on two handguns and then severely low balled me on a nicely re-stocked an...

Re: TC Renagade 50/54

I have owned one for many years in .54 cal. The rifling twist is 1 - 48 NOT 1 - 66. It shoots conical bullets far better than round ball or sabots. The Maxi Hunter bullet shoots great out of it, but they are no longer made by T/C. However, the Great Plains Bullet from Lyman and the PowerBelt bullets...

I forgot to add that PowerBelt bullets shoot very well out of my .54's and they are extremely easy to load.

Re: Opinions on Value - Lyman Deerstalker Stainless

I own several muzzleloaders in .54 cal; all with the 1 in 48 twist. Conicals like the Lyman Great Plains Bullet or the T/C MaxiHunter or MaxiBall (Sadly both no longer made in .54 cal.) shoot better than sabots or patched round ball. October Country in CDA is a good source for the traditional muzzle...

Both White Elephant stores sell it; you will need to ask for it at the gun counter.

New Gunsmith/Gun Shop in Davenport?

On a HWY 2 drive to Lake Roosevelt this past weekend, I passed a new(?) gun shop offering gunsmithing in downtown Davenport. I was unable to stop, but I wonder if anyone is familar with the shop and the gunsmith?

Re: Fishtrap First impression

The noise factor sounds like WW111. A series of ponds that provided waterfowl habitat and some occasional waterfowl hunting are now void of birds due to some ignorant line drawing by the BLM that allows the too nearby chaotic shooting. Even a trail hike to Fish Trap Lake requires ear plugs and some ...

I am interested in placing a like-new Browning Model 12 pump action 20 Ga. in a consignment store for sale. Does anyone have any personal experience with a reputable and honest business that offers this service at a reasonable fee?

Re: NICS DELAY...

A PIN (Personal Identification Number) will help in the future; you need to go through the process of requesting one from NICS and then ALWAYS putting it on the 4473 form on a gun purchase: https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/vaf-form-25.pdf/view And always put your SSN on the 4473 to help avoid pos...
