Re: Winchester model 74
Give a try with cleaning solvent and compressed air. They are hard to clean. One other item may help is called a "Chamber Iron" that is used to swage out dents in the chamber caused mainly by dry firing. Scrub that chamber out with something that will clean out the old way and powder.

Re: Mica Peak or other place?
Mica, or more correctly Spokane Valley Rifle & Pistol Club is still open. BUT, they are embroiled in a lawsuit and pressure to close it from a wealthy man named Tim Hunt, who owns Huntwood Cabinets in Liberty Lake. Tim built his house about a mile from the range (not certain the distance) and claime...

Re: Mel Doyle`s a good guy
I suppose I have utilized their service over a dozen times. I have been more than pleased each time with the quality of work, the speed, and the price. Only one thing to be certain that you do is prep the medal correctly as bluing does not do well over old bluing or rust. So I learned to clean the s...

Great Work a Protection First
I stumbled across a small shop dealing in Black Rifle interests that I never knew existed. Surprise to me I met Frank who had been a dealer for the CMMG company a few years back. A reintroduction and then I thought of the unfinished AR projects I had on the back burner. After talking with Frank, I s...

Re: Long range shooters group
Lets see if we can fish for a few more names / interested persons and then get something started. We can have a first meeting at Mica or SRC with our rifles and start shooting and exchanging ideas and learning., Then some fun meets and perhaps we could start a team and see if we can kick ass around ...

Re: Rimfire Competitions?
There are rimfire matches. Mostly NRA smallbore 3 or 4 position matches. It is not easy to find the schedule but SRC and surrounding Junior Clubs have a sponsored fall and winter circuit of matches. You have to look on the club schedules to find them. A few years ago the Spokaesman Review published ...

Re: Match Rifle Ammo
I found some of the Wolf Match at Cabela's. Bx of 500 so I got a couple. Very, very nice. I shoot indoors during the fall and winter along with a Smallbore team. I also had the Fiochi Standard velockty from 'Outdoor Sports' which changed their name then moved to North Town.

Long range shooters group
Is there a group that gets together to practice outdoor long range shooting? If so, I would like to know, If not lets see if we can start a group. I am not specificly speaking of F-Class shooting, nor excluding them. Just a group of guys who want to learn and practice banging at long range targets. ...

Re: Best price for a transfer fee???
It is the law now to charge the tax on the gun being transfered, keith out at Northwest pawn and colector arms is also charging tax now too. The days of a flat 20 or 25 to transfer a firearm are comming to a close. :( Bunk! Where is this law? What law is it? If a FFL dealer gets a visit from the ST...

Re: Axel Raven
Anyone know if he's still in business? I went by where I thought his "new" shop was located, but the space was vacant. Not the old place next to the head shop, but farther south on Division. I was by yesterday and the place is glum, not that he isn't trying, but the rent on Division is very high an...

Best price for a transfer fee???
Folks: Which local (Spokane Area) FFL dealer has the best price to charge for a transfer? That is a firearm that is only going through the books. I have been trying to shop and am disturbed at an attitude forming in some of the dealers. Some even want to charge sales tax!!! This is easy stuff as you...
