What differentiates an auto from a spring assisted? My buddy has the AK47 or whatever knife that opens with a button which is considered auto, I believe. nice polish on that...these are Schrades version of the bowie that I've collected dressed up by Herman Williams, in house customizer for Schrade for 24 years One of the stories I've heard is that the cavalry sabre was shortened by vets to use as a fighting knife..possibly a contributor to the style ...

I collect Schrade knives...the ones made before 2004, when they went bankrupt. Taylor LLC bought the rights and makes Schrades in China now. Schrade switched to a carbon stainless blade. The older high carbon blades sell for more..I think the high carbon holds a better edge and is easier to sharpen ...
