Re: low velocity dont know why
Yeah, that doesn't make sense. If they measure the VOLUME of air required to reach a set pressure, that would tell something.

Re: low velocity dont know why
Doesn't seem abnormal to me. The smaller calibers really seem to lose velo faster with each inch taken off from whatever the "test" is. I'm sure ron will be along shortly for a real answer.

Re: Interesting
Yeah, I'm sure in reality the repercussions of such an event would only serve to hinder the goals of those seeking smaller government and individual liberty. It just gets hard to sit here, typing letters to representatives, knowing the letters won't be acknowledged because the politicians aren't hol...

Re: Interesting
I actually started replying to Airon's reply to that statement but accidentally closed the browser window before I was done. Basically you're correct, the natural right to free travel was not mentioned in any of the founding documents, so it is not really directly comparable. That said, I consider m...

Re: Interesting
And that means the people have the right to own weapons with the same capabilities as the weapons used by the military. Though Buzz probably has, anyone else who wants additional interesting reading, research US v. Miller. While I disagree that a SBS does not have military utility and that that ass...

I've got a 788 in 308 I might be talked into selling if you're looking for one. Has a tight or short-cut chamber causing an occasional extraction problem but if you're replacing the barrel that would be a non-issue.

I've gone back and forth on that. I'm not sure. Just for the sake of argument, do you feel driver's licenses are unconstitutional?

Re: Interesting
I think the whole premise of "may issue" is unconstitutional. We don't need to justify our guaranteed, natural rights.

Re: AccuDure Barrel coatings
Hunting and sniping is the same as far as the inside of the barrel is concerned. I would believe it more if semiauto was the priciest because of the higher heat potential possibly requiring a more complex formula.
I call BS on this.

Re: Anyone else paying attention?
Same here. Well, that'll be 100% true after I get the wood stove in this summer. Right now my only *need* for electricity would be to boil water if I had to do it on the stove instead of the outdoor firepit for whatever reason, and while not *necessary* it could be extremely handy to have for power ...

Re: Anyone else paying attention?
Some of us outside of Spokane proper are more vulnerable to temporary disruptions to infrastructure. He also didn't say major ones happened often. But they do happen. Remember the one that knocked out the whole eastern seaboard? Bet lots of people over there wished they had a generator when that hap...

Re: Anyone else paying attention?
Expected loads are well below the continuous rating. Last month we averaged just over 800 watts per hour and a sizable chunk of that is running convenience items, which wouldn't be used in an outage. I only got as big a generator as I did because I wanted something that could power my welder or plas...

Re: Anyone else paying attention?
I didn't know about the imbalance, thanks for the heads up. 8 gauge does sound better. I was planning to put the hookup near the breaker panel in the shop and have the generator outside somewhere, but after looking at prices I'm thinking it would be cheaper to run grounded 8/3 NM to a twist-lock rec...

Re: Anyone else paying attention?
Yeah, I was going to make mine a little fancier by hooking up both hots and the neutral, but electrical isn't hard. Just need to get some SJOOW..... What size and how much? I need to look at the exact output specs again and make up my mind on where I want the thing when it's running. It's 8500 or s...

Yeah, I was going to make mine a little fancier by hooking up both hots and the neutral, but electrical isn't hard. Just need to get some SJOOW, a receptacle, and some plug ends. I've been meaning to get it hooked up and run the house off it for a day, just to get some run time on the generator and ...

Well said all, but I wonder why his assessment of the situation was not openly questioned by the arriving cops? Is there such a comaradarie these days that you just go along with anything so as to not be seen as questioning a fellow officer? It was so apparently a load of politicaly motivated BS th...
