He’s URGING lawmakers after a visit with the state patrol crime lab. Gave him a demonstration of “simulated automatic fire” using a bumpstock, and that was enough for him after seeing what this piece of plastic is capable of in Las Vegas...
Ya but that’s nothing new. That demo happened over 3 months ago IIRC. I watched KREM this morning before leaving for work and didn’t see anything about this.

Looks like there are hearings set for Monday after-all...

So the date for the hearing has been updated, according to NRA ILA to the 18th with quote from NRA ILA:
Washington: Contact House Judiciary Committee to Oppose HB1122
On Thursday, January 18th, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hear House Bill 1122, which would require law-abiding citizens to render their firearms useless for self-defense by requiring that all firearms be locked up. Self-defense scenarios are difficult, if not impossible, to foresee. Suitable storage of firearms vary by personal circumstances as different gun owners have different requirements and it is unreasonable for the law to attempt to impose a one-size-fits-all solution.

Please contact committee members and urge them to OPPOSE this bill that will infringe upon your Second Amendment rights!

But for the rest of us morons who actually believe the government will work on holidays, at least some small portions of it anyways, here is the Senate schedule for Jan 15th - 19th. Hope they are salary and not getting ot for this, if they show....

http://leg.wa.gov/Senate/Committees/Doc ... ession.pdf

Shows a relatively busy schedule for a holiday. Wonder how we can check to see if they actually show up or call in a sick day, or cancel, or reschedule, or play canasta......

Couldn't find the house schedule though, gave up trying.

The above post with the development says the hearing is still being held Monday, MLK day. Contact your reps guys, we need to defeat this.

In this article the Democrat representative from district 19, Brian Blake, stated his opposition to additional gun control legislation. This guy is a key vote (the Spokesman article says that if Republicans are unanimous in their opposition, and Blake votes against these things, the bills can't pass.).

Let's send supportive emails to Mr. Blake and let him know his opposition is appreciated and we're counting on him to stand with gun owners. https://app.leg.wa.gov/pbc/memberEmail/19/2

Reports indicate a bunch of people showed up, several not able to get in, locked out.

Agreed, lets support Mr Blake. I will be sending encouragement this evening.

News this morning says this proposed legislation included raising the age to purchase a rifle from 18yo to 21...
You CANNOT drink a beer (legally) at 18 years old...
You CANNOT smoke cigarettes or vape (legally)at 18 years old...
You CANNOT buy a rifle (legally) at 18 years old...(?!?)

How much longer are we willing to be forced into swallowing unconstitutional legislation? These corrupt politicians need to go find a different career- they are ineffective in office as far as doing anything their constituents want... EVER.

You must be at least 17 years old (17-year old applicants require parental consent). At 18 you no longer require parental consent.

Great sources of information in the above links.

Appears 5992, bump fire bill, passed the senate committee today. Others are still up in the air. Anti gun groups are already talking about making this an initiative for this years ballot measures. Keep contacting your reps.
