If we plan on meeting up to caravan from the Double Eagle Parking Lot, we need to set a time.ron wrote:I'm in. RONhatchdog wrote:Bump, need more volunteers. This will be a great time, come on out!

Re: SGT Range Clean-up..... Deer Park Sept. 24th
Let's plan on meeting at 8:30 at Double Eagle in Deer Park (address above, thanks BC38) and leave for the range at 9:00 sharp! I have sent this information to Dan Anderson at DNR so hopefully he will be available at that time to open the gate for us.
The good news is Double Eagle shares the parking lot with Zips drive inn. If you aren't aware, the Zips in Deer Park, Chewelah and Colville serve breakfast and it's excellent. Good prices and lots of food! Their handmade breakfast sandwiches make an Egg MacMuffin taste like cardboard...... They open at 7:00 am so if you are looking for breakfast prior that's an option.

Re: SGT Range Clean-up..... Deer Park Sept. 24th
Ok, I received confirmation from Dan Anderson of DNR that he will be on site on the 24th to support our clean-up efforts.
From Dan:
"I will be at the Boggs clean-up site at 0915 on Saturday September 24th to open the gate. I am planning on staying in the area to ensure no shooting occurs while volunteers are working on the clean –up. I do not expect to get called away, but that remote possibility does exist. I will be bringing the blue heavy duty garbage bags, a key to open the gate, and volunteer forms for folks to fill out. I have confirmation from our Airway Heights crews that they will be out to pick up the bagged and large garbage items (likely the following week.) I am assuming folks will bring their own leaf rakes, shovels, gloves or equipment they need to perform the cleanup.
These clean-ups are a first for me so if there are other needs you have of me just let me know and I will certainly do what I can to assist.
Again, thank you for your time and interest in cleaning up this site!!!"
I will edit the first post on this thread with times, places etc. and start a sign-up list for food. Please post what you will bring and I will update page one.

Re: SGT Range Clean-up..... Deer Park Sept. 24th
I plan on being there...
Please talk to your co-workers, friends and family members. We need to get as many bodies as we can and swarm this range! Lets show the DNR that there are still good, responsible gun owners that care about keeping our free, outdoor shooting ranges open. A bigger clean up group equals a bigger impact.
A special thank you to hatchdog for taking the lead on this much needed event!

If available, show up and bring friends and family and bring some hardware to shoot!

Just show up, but if you can, send a PM to Bladebum or hatchdog and let them know. The only consideration would be food for the BBQ but there's always plenty.

Re: SGT Range Clean-up..... Deer Park Sept. 24th
We should educate people on what is OK to shoot there bio degradable paper targets are the only thing DNR wants people to shoot at if everyone did that it wouldn't get shut down according to DNR. not tvs, microwaves ,lawn mowers, plastic or glass bottles, or any kind of metal cans that i see so many people bring in. Also parking in front of the gate is not ok there is a big signe that says DO NOT BLOCK GATE I met DNR out there a couple weeks ago and talked to them about why they want to shut it down an I told them that SGT members try to keep it clean and that we would let other people know as well when we're there

Re: SGT Range Clean-up..... Deer Park Sept. 24th
If you thought that a range clean up, bbq and a fun shoot was going to be a fun and worthwhile event by itself, you would be correct.
But wait... there's more!
As a little incentive (and to increase the fun factor just a little bit more) I've decided to donate a couple of items for a drawing.
1st: A 333 round brick of Winchester 36 gr hollow point .22 LR ammo.
2nd: A "Team Glock" ball cap (new).
Here's how it'll work.
1) Anyone that attends the range clean up (even if you can't stay all day) (13 years old or older) will be eligible to enter the drawing.
2) Only one entry per person.
3) The drawing will be held after the range clean is done and before the bbq / fun shoot starts.
4) Winner of the first draw will have their choice of the items offered.
5) Winner of the first draw will not be eligible for the second item draw.
6) If a minor (13+ but under 21) happens to win the ammo, a parent (or adult sponsor) will take initial possession of the ammo.
In addition, I will bring the SGT donation can for those that wish to make a cash donation to the site. Any amount is helpful and is greatly appreciated. If you are a general member (white member name) and want to upgrade to Premium member status, (red member name) please include your user name and amount donated ($20 or more required for the upgrade) along with your donation to the can.
hatchdog, please let me know if I've forgotten anything on this...
