So, I know that with nice expensive equipment, fakes are an issue...Now with that said, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is...
My question is how to tell a real Schmidt & Bender optic verses a fake one...
I took a gamble and bought a 5x25-56 PMII for $380.00 on Amazon. I called Amazon and they said I can return it for a full refund if I'm not happy with it regardless of the reason...
Now, my issue is, when I get it, how do I verify its legit???
Getting my money back is a non-issue, Amazon has guaranteed that...Made sure of that before I bought.
I can not find any data out there to find any tell tale marks, quality, logos, faux SN's, ect...
I've also never seen or heard of anyone making fake S&B optics.
SO...anyone care to share some info or knowledge???

Their site has a list of dealers, you can check that whoever you are buying through Amazon is on that list? Read the reviews, especially the low 1 and 2 star ones. The seller should have reviews as well, you can search them for terms like fake and imitation whatever. S&B customer service would likely give you a few tips as well.
But considering those are what, over $3k normally, I'd say the odds youre getting a fake hover right around 105%

Re: Real vs Fake Schmidt & Bender
Right, but aside from price, I've done lots of research over the last few years on these...what makes it a fake? I do I prove its a fake?
I'm not saying this purchase isn't (most likely is) but how is it proven?
(I will send it back for a refund, should it be)
