Anybody have build plans for a reloading bench? I'm thinking of a free standing bench with a minimum of 8' width.

or,

A pre-fab bench which requires assembly. (tight turn at the bottom of the stairs so no pre-built benchs)

If it helps, I designed mine then built it in the garage. Marked every joint and then took it apart and reassembled it downstairs. Would that tactic help?

It is a good suggestion but I can build it in place. Fortunately there is a window in the basement room where I plan to do my reloading and I can feed 8' boards through it. I will have to rip the plywood in half in order to fit through the window.

Youtube has tons of plans/diy videos. I got my bench from home depot. it folds so it's easy to get around corners. it's sturdy, works great and it's just wood, so you can always add on to it if you want. the materials for building a good bench are gonna run you at least $50 anyway. this one is $80 and it's already put together. I stained mine, wish i would have used a lighter stain though.

I ended up buying a Gladiator bench from Sears. Sears had the best price I could find and shipped it free to the Northtown store where I had to pick it up. It was dis-assembled and packed in a fairly flat box which made the trip to the basement fine. It is 8’ wide by 2’deep with a laminated hardwood butcher block type top. I opted for the optional power strip which not only provides several outlets but acts as a back stop too. Size is perfect and the height is adjustable, right now it’s set up for either sitting on my stool or standing. I added three shelves to the wall above and I think it looks great!

Another great idea, drawers would be nice. I do have an old five drawer high boy type dresser I store stuff in but drawers under the bench would be real handy.

I like pegboard on the wall under the shelving to hang stuff on.i have a one shelf above my set up, I need more shelving. Once I move my gun cabinets I will add some.
