Powder recommendations for .223
I know the topic been discussed, BUT:
I'm looking for some experienced reloading advice on powder selection for .223's; here's my specifics:
1. Reloading a large volume of ammo; say upwards 10,000 rounds
2. Using 55-62 gr projectiles, barrels are 1-8/9 in. twists
3. will develop an appropriate load before this operation commences with whatever components we select
Going to do this progressively on both Hornady and Dillion presses. Looking for that powder that meters extremely well, clean with excellent volume accuracy potential.
I've loaded varget, 4895, 4064, RL-15......they are not it for volume manufacturing using this equipment; would prefer a ball powder or similar: does CFE223 or H335 do this? Or, do you have another suggestion?

H335 meters wonderfully, and performs well for your chosen projectile weight. I would certainly recommend it for use on a progressive press.

BLC2 might be what you are looking for.

SGT member Seekers sells 8# jugs of WC844 surplus powder, see link below. I use this for .223 and it meters and shoots great. Use H335 data as it is not listed in any manuals.

I'm gonna say it, and a lot of you won't like it, but I use IMR4198 for my .223 reloads and love the stuff. However, if you're trying to quickly load a large volume like you mentioned it probably isn't for you.

H335 is what I use for bulk reloading. Meters better than anything else I've used, and excels at those bullet weights.

Been using Reloader 7 - 20.5 grains with 55 grain FMJBT (Armscor). Works nice for me.

Re: Powder recommendations for .223
I have a Howa 1500 in 223. I loaded some 50 Grain Hornaday A-max bullets with CFE223 and some 45 grain Winchester 45 grain hp bullets with H336. The H335 work much better.

Varget, H335, and Benchmark.
