Freedom Munitions sent me a bottle of Breakthrough synthetic gun oil. It's a clear fluid with no smell. They make both a lube and solvent.

I've never tried any. Anybody ever use it? How will it mix with petroleum products? Will it react like Froglube and petroleum products?

I personally don't have any experience with the product, but from what I have heard it's pretty good stuff. I can't speak to how well it plays with other products, but seems pretty benign. This is from their website.

"Breakthrough® Clean’s products are also non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-staining, odorless, and eco-friendly so, they’re safe for you, your firearm, and your environment."

The stuff I made from synthetic Tranny fluid, Syntheic 5/30 and Hoppes 9 smells like boiling cat urine but I wouldn't use anything else. This stuff is great.

Breakthrough Marketing.

Engines have more moving parts, get hotter, and stay outside in the harsh environments. A good cleaner and a drop of motor oil is more then enough.
