Good place in town?

Post by fhsantos » Tue Nov 01, 2011 9:48 pm

Looking for a good place in town to purchase mainly covert/off duty tactical gear. Sharpshooters has some stuff but not what I'm looking for. Looking for 5.11, Blackhawk, Maxpedition, etc... Jackets, packs, boots, slings, molle pouches, etc... Shoot me a pm if you know of any place in specific. Big thing is actual clothing, bigger frame means I wanna try em on before I outright purchase.

Thanks,
Frank

Blumenthal's, on Washington just north of Boone.

Ya I emailed them last night, someone a ways back informed me that they don't sell to civilians. I emailed them & they informed me on certain items I wouldn't be able to purchase. So I'll be making a stop in there.

Online purchasing is always an option. LA Police gear ( www.lapolicegear.com ) is always having sales and clearance items. There is also quartermaster for online shopping that does ok on prices.

Online shopping is great, but everyone knows different companies size things different. That's why I'm lookin for a local place that I can try on what I like. Got a big wish list that I need to figure out the sizes I want for em.

That's the very reason I won't give them a dime for anything they deem me worthy to buy. I was denied the purchase of a telescoping baton, which is 100% legal for civilians in this state. I started looking after being attacked by dogs while jogging. Ended up buying a cheapie from Sportsman's Guide.

Really? Wierd, you can get those at General Store as far as I knew. The girlfriend carries a Leverloc that I bought her beginning of this year. Not really sure what their deal is about that stuff. All I know if I need a place to figure out my size for stuff, measuring always gives me a general idea. But that doesn't mean it's comfortable.

I can understand to a point about their liability concern, however it isn't a firearm & it's legal in our state for civilian ownership so I can't see how they'd be held liable if it was used maliciously(any more than the manufacturer of a crowbar). I even mentioned my CPL to quell any felony concerns to which she said, "What does that have to do w/ anything?" I should have asked her "Then what's your problem"?

Sorry, didn't mean to de-rail your thread fhsantos. Rant off. ;) I've seen what looks to be a decent selection at Center Target Sports in Post falls if you don't mind going a little further. I know they have 5.11 gear.

A little drive is always nice lol, I'm sure others appreciate knowing they aren't going to be able to purchase items as such.

Thanks,
Frank
