there's a thread somewhere around here about similar, I think it boiled down to you're going to ruin your night vision charging 'em but there are uv strobes or something that can charge 'em fast w/o that problem. I just leave the lights on all over the house, no need for night sites and avista seems to appreciate my support and besides, if you break into my house at night I'm likely blast you full of buckshot from the hip, won't be lookin' at the sights anyhow, but I'm single and can't see mistaking the dog for an intruder, ymmv.
