Sling types
What do you use for your AR15 and why?
1 point?
2 point?
3 point?
I have used a 2 point Blackhawk and really liked it but cannot find the exact model.

Re: Sling types
I like my Vickers Blue Force two point sling. It works well with most all my AR's, rifle or pistol.

Magpul MS3 here. I'll never use anything else.
That being said, I have good 'ole two points on the hunting rifles and shotguns.

Re: Sling types
I have a paracord sling that I made. It attaches from the shoulder of my vest to the Magpul ASAP on my AR. Works great, simple and durable.

+1 on the MS3. You have the ability to go between a 2 point or a 1 point.Yaakattack3 wrote:Magpul MS3 here. I'll never use anything else.

Re: Sling types
I never run a 1 point on an AR. The rifle hangs to low and is really uncomfortable to run with. Not a fan of the 3 point either. I always run the 2 point. My favorite is also the Blue Force Vickers quick adjust sling. Its the only sling I use now. Very easy to have it tight to the body in the ready position and quickly adjust to shooting position.
Try to look unimportant; they may be low on ammo...

I have the VTAC sling. It's a 2 point and I love it. It's really comfortable, very adjustable, and it feels really solid.

Best sling I've used. Adjustments are super fast and simple and allows left handed operation if the need ever arises. Ed out at center target recommended it in his AR classes and I couldn't be happier with it.
I've upped my standards, now up yours!

Re: Sling types
Another vote for the VTAC. I like the versatility of the 2 point to double as a shooting aid, and love the easy adaptability of the VTAC. I had an early Magpul sling, and while I liked the concept I found the nylon too narrow and adjustments too difficult. I haven't tried the newer versions though since I switched to the VTAC and have been satisfied.Tuck wrote:I have the VTAC sling. It's a 2 point and I love it. Re: Sling types
Got a V-Tac earlier this week and after several days in the field on an AR-10 - I couldn't be happier with it.
We came across a coyote out in the field today that my partner spotted and I had it flopping around dead before he could even get his rifle shouldered.

Another vote for V-TAC. Botach Tactical has a well-made copy of the design (padded and non-padded) for $20.00 delivered.

Re: Sling types
I've got the magpul ms3 and I love it. It's great because I like to use my AR for multiple uses and being able to run 1 point or 2 point with a simple clip is really nice. I am looking for a better front rail mount attachment however. Right now I have a sling loop end plate in the rear and a 1in qd swivel up front.
