Blanket Shoot?

Post by Glen B » Mon Jan 20, 2014 5:57 pm

Hello,
I am new to trap shooting and I see that Spokane Gun Club is having a blanket shoot in Feb. 8th. Can someone explain what a blanket shoot is?

I am assuming that it would work similar to a turkey shot. The winner wins a blanket.
Kill em and grill em, whack em and stack em

Glen,

It's actually a more formal event than a turkey or sausage shoot. They have a program online at spokanegunclub.org. You'll have to be a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and will be classed according to your average and known ability. They are 100 bird events, 100 from the 16, 100 from your assigned handicap yardage, and then 100 doubles, if you choose to shoot them. You can shoot one event or all three. The blankets come into play as a trophy to the winners of the classes, events, etc. On another note, Hauser Lake Gun Club is hosting a meat shoot on the same day, and Dusty Gun Club is hosting their annual meat shoot on February 9th. If you need any more info, feel free to PM me. Break em all!
