WWII FN/Nazi HiPower ''Bbq Gun''

Post by ihcrazy » Thu Feb 22, 2018 8:33 pm

Always wanted a HiPower and found this the other day so now have one . It was nickeled somewhere in the last 70 years so is a bit pimpy for my usual taste but its growing on me . So far it has functioned flawlessly and have used only hollowpoints which surprised me. The Tangent sight was missing but with a bit of searching found one that fits perfectly. I plan to find some more original type grips although these rubber ones feel pretty darn good . Also need some magazines for it as it came with a (Klinton) 10 rounder and I picked up a Mecgar 15rd. Most people complain about the magazine trigger disconnect causing a bad trigger pull but is pretty nice but does have a bit of takeup.

Your hammer is correct for this model.
The spur hammer came into being in '72, as yours has an internal extractor that would place it as being producer prior to '62.
Early Hi-Powers all had a round-shaped hammer. This was replaced with a spur-type hammer in 1972 for pistols that were imported to the U.S.
The quote is from the following link, good read.
